CELEBRATION SUNDAY....AUGUST 31, 2008
Note Burning and Dinner on the Grounds immediately following the second service. The Church is furnishing the meat (fried chicken) and we need to bring the vegetables, desserts, and bread. Plan to attend as we celebrate and give thanks to God for providing us with and wonderful church facility...that is now paid for! Any questions, call Michelle 903-451-3620.

Letting Your Light Shine

Last week I wrote about letting our light shine in our world. So, how did you do this week? It is not always as simple as singing the little song. “This Little Light of Mine.” We have to work at it.

Here is a reminder we can use daily to be a bright and shinning beacon to those around us in a lost and dying world.

Be a B-E-A-C-O-N

B Battle. Remember what you are battling against. “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring ion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:8

E Endure. Keep pressing on. “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended; but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 5:22

A Abstain. Don’t get caught up in the world. “Abstain from all appearance of evil.” 1 Thessalonians 5:22

C Consecrate. Live a holy life. “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1

O Obey. Be obedient to Christ. “Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.“ 2 Corinthians 10:5

N Nurture. Say in the Word. “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.“ 2 Timothy 2:15
